Magazine and Reports Defending Women

On 8 January 2010, the Women’s Union launched Ishraqat Al Marah Magazine, the Women Monitor and a book of Amani Al Wadaee entitled ‘Bahraini Women in Sharia Courts’ at the Union headquarter. In this event, the Union’s official spokesman Fatima Rabia said that the team of the Women Monitor will be trained in order to prepare reports, which follow up the progress of women’s rights and the general situation of women in Bahrain. The team is also planning to present annual reports in this regard, which are expected to become a tool for putting pressure on the Government in order to improve any shortcomings in the situation of women.
