Labour Protest

Thousands of labouers protested in Manama on the occasion of the International Labour Day. The demonstration started from near the headquarters of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions and ended in front of the Parliament. The protestors called for a general strike as a protest against the current economic situation and the redundancy actions which they say are using the financial crisis as an excuse. They demanded the Government to interfere and put an end to this and provide adequate job opportunities for university graduates.
