Workshop for Developing Monitoring
and Documentation Skills

On 18-21 June 2010, the Bahrain Society for Human Rights organised a workshop to develop skills in the field of monitoring and documenting human rights violations. The Secretary General Abdullah Al Derazi said that the aim of the monitoring was to promote the state’s responsibility in protecting human rights, and help in implementing international human rights standards. This in addition to taking legal procedures against violations and referring them to court, spreading awareness, providing protection for victims and providing an early warning system with regards to violations that may occur. A number of Arab experts participated in the workshop, among them Dr. Haytham Al Manaa from the Arab Committee for Human Rights and Nina Ata Allah the President of the Department of Monitoring and Documentation in the Palestinian Haq Institution.
