Workshop on Health and Human Rights

On 12 May 2009, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the cooperation of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Regional Office of UNDP, organized a workshop on human rights and health in Manama, Bahrain. During the workshop, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Nazar Al Baharna, stressed Bahrain’s tireless pursuit towards the implementation of all its commitments in the periodic comprehensive review for human rights.

On the other hand, the Minister of Health, Dr. Faisal bin Yaqoob al Hamar, said that human rights in health care can only be achieved in a clean environment which is free from any dangerous sources of pollution. He emphasized the importance of the adoption of health policies in order to achieve the minimum of those rights including the right of every citizen to have access to the service of advanced and safe medical care.
